Our Mission

This vision forms the basic principle of European House Of Dance (EHOD). The experimental freedom of musicians and dancers, performing in the jazz scene at clubs during the roaring twenties of the former century, combined with the rebellion of the underground urban dance scene of today forms an explosive choreographic mix that appeals to employers in the artistic & commercial working field worldwide.

At EHOD, young urban dancers & choreographers are exploring the possibilities of these two social dance forms that both found their origin in clubs and on the urban streets all over the world. You will learn how to start a professional practice in the creative arts, in order to make a living as an all-round urban dancer. Urban dance is booming business, so make sure you build the best skills and get into the right networks by joining EHOD!

Community Outreach

We believe it is important that dancers are role models for next generations. Dance is a way of life, you need to live the culture in order to understand it. A professional dancer needs discipline, stamina and positive social skills in order to function in the industry. Therefore we encourage our students to also perform for schools and work together with NGO’s (Non Governmental Organisations) in social community projects.

The first EHOD course starts in September 2018 at the studios of Amsterdam Dance Centre, in the heart of the city.

Our Location

Since the foundation of Amsterdam Dance Centre (ADC) in 1995, this is a well-known venue in Amsterdam for everyone that has an interest in dance classes at all levels. The mutual vision on jazz dance and urban dance creates an ideal environment for the housing of EHOD at the spacious studios in the brand new building of ADC in the city centre of Amsterdam. The EHOD students who are working at the studios during the day, will be an inspiration for young amateur dancers who take classes at ADC in the afternoon. This will reinforce and expand the urban dance community to all levels of society.

The city of Amsterdam can look back on a long and interesting history, which is displayed by a rich cultural life and a diverse population. The city's districts and neighbourhoods are hugely varied – each has its own character. We invite you to enrich your education in Amsterdam by visiting the suggested hotspots below.
